Almost £5 million funding has been set aside to deliver a new training and mentoring programme for North West of England-based small and micro-enterprises.
Funded as part of the government's solutions for business portfolio, the three-year mentoring for North West businesses scheme will offer firms free guidance to help key staff realise their potential.
Business owners, leaders and managers will be able to take part in a series of one-to-one, group, and online mentoring sessions over a period of six to 12 months.
The programme will be available to companies that have been trading for more than 12 months and have an annual turnover of less than £2 million.
Announcing the initiative, Steven Broomhead, chief executive of Northwest Regional Development Agency, said: "Mentoring is a key element of the agency's leadership & management framework for action."
"We understand that by helping businesses to invest in the development of their leaders and managers we can help create robust and competitive businesses that will ultimately contribute significantly to the economic success of England's North West."
