Getting to know ACAS

You'd be forgiven for thinking that ACAS (Advisory Conciliation and Arbitration Service) was only there to assist employers when they were faced with a collective or individual employment dispute. You may be surprised to learn that dispute resolution is just one of the services that ACAS offers. In addition to our traditional role, we also provide up to the minute advice through our helpline, more detailed guidance through our team of advisers and the delivery of high quality training courses in all employment related issues.

We aim to improve organisations and working life through better employment relations. We help with employment relations by supplying up-to-date information, independent advice and high quality training, and working with employers and employees to solve problems and improve performance.
