Ask about business

Ask About Business is a new partnership between eleven library authorities in Greater Manchester, Blackpool and Blackburn and Darwen. Led by Manchester Library and Information Service, Ask About Business provides access through libraries to information that supports:

  • Pre-start and new businesses
  • Existing businesses
  • Jobseekers
  • Consumers
  • Inventors
  • Business students

The resources available in libraries across the sub-region can help entrepreneurs and small businesses plan, find funding and market their products and services. This increases employment and prosperity for the area. Libraries also provide the opportunity for many microbusinesses and self-employed people to gain access to industry-standard information at no charge.

Libraries support employment issues through access to information for the unemployed and those seeking to improve their skills. Libraries also help visitors to the UK in their search for work and to obtain the skills they need to enter the job market.
