Bolton Council is seeking expressions of interest to lease the brand-new café facility

This will serve visitors to the library, museum, and aquarium, as well as the wider community

The café will be ready to move in to and open in December 2023 and the council is looking for the right applicants to take it on.

The Grade II listed library and museum building is located in the heart of Bolton town centre and is currently undergoing a £4.2 million pound refurbishment as part of the Towns Fund.

The refurbishment will also include upgrading the children’s and adult library, foyer and main library spaces, the provision of additional mezzanine level floor spaces, and digital infrastructure.

Cllr Hilary Fairclough, Deputy Leader of the council said: “This is a unique opportunity to run a café in a beautiful, listed building.

“The business potential is huge as over half a million people visit the library, museum, and aquarium every year.

“We are hoping for as many expressions of interest as possible so we can select the very best option for Bolton residents and visitors.”

Tenders must be submitted no later than 5pm on March 31, 2023.

All completed tenders should be emailed to cps_clientteam@bolton.gov.uk or sent by recorded delivery to Director of Place, 3rd Floor Town Hall, Victoria Square, Bolton, BL1 1RU.
