“I started my business out of my kitchen and garage, traded 3 years at Artisan Markets in and around Manchester to gain experience and to see if there is a market for pretzels and German/ Bavarian bakery products.
I took the plunge in 2018 and opened my Bavarian Bakery shop in Bolton after being selected to take part in a BBC food program.Now, after over 2 1/2 years trading, I have 5 employee's (mix of full/part time), plus some occasional Bolton College students on work experience placement.
The business did very well over the pandemic, three-folded our business and I was able to pay off my business loan early and could now take out a salary, if I wish to do so. I never dreamt it would go so well. As larger customers start to find us and enquire about UK made pretzels, it’s now time to start thinking about next bigger steps.
