Greater Manchester Employers Encouraged to Support T Level Placements

T Levels

New campaign highlights the benefits for employers, including access to ambitious students, filling skills gaps, and enhancing brand reputation.

Greater Manchester is launching a campaign to encourage employers to host T Level placements – and unlock their business’s potential along the way.

T Levels are two-year technical education courses for 16-19-year-olds, combining classroom learning and industry placements lasting a minimum of 45 days. They aim to equip students with job-ready skills and a nationally recognised certificate equivalent to three A Levels. The campaign aims to support employers with the information and support they need to make the most of T Level placements. This includes FAQs, events, webinars and support materials to make it as easy as possible to get involved. T Levels underpin the Greater Manchester Baccalaureate (MBacc) - strengthening technical education opportunities, creating a genuine alternative to university, and helping employers to fill the skills gaps that will help us turbocharge the economy.

The benefits of hosting T Level placements are well documented:

•Access to skilled talent: Gain access to a pool of talented and motivated students who are eager to apply their skills in a real-world setting. T Level students bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to your business.

•Enhance your workforce: T Level placements provide an opportunity to identify and nurture future employees. By investing in their development, you can build a pipeline of skilled workers tailored to your business needs.

•Positive impact on the community: Supporting T Levels helps to strengthen the local economy and community. By providing valuable work experience, you contribute to the development of a skilled and employable workforce in Greater Manchester.

•Boost your brand: Participating in T Level placements enhances your company's reputation as a socially responsible and forward-thinking employer. Showcase your commitment to education and workforce development.
